Blast Off To Learning

I have decided it’s time for me to start blogging. I have blogged with my students, in other words, created blogs for them, as well as teachers, however, ”I” haven’t technically blogged. So, here goes.

First, a little about me. I am starting a new position at a new school, though I don’t yet know my official title. My home base will be one of two library/media centers at Greenview Upper Elementary (grades 4/5/6). I will be working with approximately 450 students and their teachers. My role is a combined one, that of librarian and tech integration specialist. I believe the two will work well together, as I feel that language arts and technology are curriculum foundational tools.

Previously, I have been a technology coordinator for grades 1-6, integrating technology with students and teachers as well as providing technical support. I have also worked as a computer teacher, both for grades K-6 as well as grades PK-8. For me, the intermediate grades are the most exciting to work with, and my wheels are spinning as to the engaging projects we can do together!
